In short

Just Divorced Singles is a dating site for separated and divorced adults, run by High Intent Media Inc. Joining, creating a profile and browsing are free. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership that renews until you cancel. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, and photos are reviewed, but what members write is not checked.

Step 1: join and build a profile (free)

Sign-up takes a few minutes. The form asks for an email address, a password and your date of birth. You need to be 18 or over, or 21 in Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska and Wyoming. Then you add photos (you'll usually need at least one) and write about yourself.

Profile details can include who you're looking for, an age range and distance, and optional facts such as whether you have children, religion, languages, smoking and drinking. Fill in what helps someone decide to say hello, and skip anything you'd rather share in person.

Every photo is reviewed. What you write is not checked, so be honest, and remember that other members' profiles aren't checked either. A good opening line says where things stand: separated, divorce going through or divorced, and whether you have children at home. Our guide to dating while separated has wording that works.

Step 2: browse (free)

Once your profile is up, you can browse other members without paying anything. Take your time. If it has been twenty years since you last dated, online dating after years away explains what has changed, from photos to video calls.

Step 3: message when you're ready (paid)

Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership, and so do seeing who has viewed or liked you, read receipts and full-size photos. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time in Settings > Billing. Checkout shows the billing name that will appear on your card statement, which may not be the site's name.

Optional extras, such as profile boosts and priority messages, are sold separately in the members area. You don't need any of them to talk to people.

Your profile is shared with partner sites

Just Divorced Singles is part of a network of dating sites that share one member database. Members of the other sites in the network can see your profile and message you, and you can see theirs. A profile shows which site its owner joined through.

That widens the pool of people you might meet. It also means you can't assume only people on this site will see you, which matters if you'd rather your ex didn't. Choose photos and a username you're comfortable with anyone seeing; our safety page has practical suggestions.

The optional ID badge

Members can add an ID verification badge as a paid extra. The check is carried out by LEM Verify and uses a photo ID document plus a selfie. It's optional for most people, but required for some sign-ups, for example joining through a VPN or if an account is flagged. A badge shows that someone passed that check. It doesn't confirm anything else they've said, so the usual safety advice still applies, and our guide to romance scams after divorce explains the patterns to watch for.

Cancelling or leaving

  1. To stop paying: go to Settings > Billing and cancel. Your membership won't renew.
  2. To remove your profile completely: click your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account.

Cancelling alone doesn't remove your profile. If you can't get into your account, see log in help. For anything else, the contact page explains how to reach the help center.

Questions people ask

Can I join before my divorce is final?

Yes. The site is for adults who are separated or divorced, wherever the paperwork has got to. Say where things stand in your profile, so the people you meet know from the start. Our guide to dating while separated has example wording.

Do I have to verify my ID?

Usually not. ID verification is an optional paid badge. It is required only for some sign-ups, such as joining through a VPN or if an account is flagged for review. The check, by LEM Verify, uses a photo ID and a selfie, and the badge shows other members you passed it.

Can members of other sites message me?

Yes. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, and their members can see your profile and message you. Each profile shows which site its owner joined through, and you can message their members in the same way.

Which countries can join?

The members area accepts sign-ups from the US, the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Portugal, plus Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. The guides on this website focus on the US and the UK.
