What can you do for free?
Everything except reading and replying to messages. You can join, build a profile, add photos and browse other members without paying. That's enough to get a feel for who's on the site, and to finish a profile you're happy with before you spend anything.
If you're still deciding whether you want to date at all, our guide on being ready to date again may be a better first stop.
What does a membership add?
A paid membership lets you read and reply to messages. It also shows you who has viewed or liked your profile, adds read receipts and lets you see photos in full. Free members see ads in the members area. These are the current options:

US prices as shown in the members area on 16 October 2026; the members area shows the exact price before you pay. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. Checkout shows the billing name that will appear on your card statement.
The members area always shows the exact price before you pay, and that is the price that applies.
Is there a free dating site for divorced people?
Many dating sites, including this one, are free to join and browse but charge for messaging, so "free" usually means free to look. On Just Divorced Singles, you can make a profile and see who's out there before deciding whether a membership is worth it to you. Whatever site you use, check three things before you pay: what's free, what renews automatically, and where to cancel.
Optional extras
Inside the members area you'll also see optional extras: profile boosts, priority messages, a 24-hour pass and an ID-verified badge. Each one shows its price before you buy. You don't need any of them to message people.
The ID badge, checked by LEM Verify with an ID document and a selfie, is explained on how it works.
Before you pay: a quick checklist
- Finish your profile first. Photos and a few honest lines make the paid part worth it.
- Read the table above and note which option continues automatically, and at what rate.
- Use a card in your own name. If money is still shared with your ex, a joint card means they may see the charge.
- Set a reminder a couple of days before the renewal date if you only want to try it.
- Know where to cancel: Settings > Billing.
Renewal, cancelling and refunds
Every membership renews automatically at the end of its period until you cancel. Cancel any time in Settings > Billing, and the membership won't renew. If you start with the trial, check the table for what it continues at, and cancel before it ends if you don't want to carry on.
Cancelling stops future payments; it doesn't delete your profile. To remove your profile, click your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account.
Refunds are handled under the membership terms, which set out when one may be possible. For billing questions, use the help center, or see our contact page.
On your card statement
Checkout shows the billing name that will appear on your statement, and it may not be the site's name. Make a note of it when you pay. If you don't recognize a charge later, log in help explains how to get into the account it belongs to and cancel, and the help center can look into it with the date and amount.
If you're keeping your new life separate from old shared accounts, our safety page has a short checklist covering cards, email and location sharing.
Questions people ask
Is Just Divorced Singles free?
Joining, making a profile, adding photos and browsing are free. To read and reply to messages, see who viewed or liked you and view photos in full, you need a paid membership. Many people finish their profile and look around for free before deciding whether to pay.
How do I stop it renewing?
Log in, go to Settings > Billing and cancel. Once cancelled, the membership won't renew at the end of the current period. Cancelling doesn't delete your profile; to remove it, click your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account.
What will my card statement say?
Checkout shows the billing name before you pay, and that is the name to look for on your statement. It may not be the site's name. If you see a charge you don't recognize, the help center can tell you which account it belongs to.
Do I need the extras to meet people?
No. Profile boosts, priority messages, a 24-hour pass and the ID badge are optional. A membership on its own lets you read and reply to messages. The ID badge, verified with an ID document and a selfie, can reassure people you talk to, but it isn't required for most members.
